Homeless Prevention Program

The Homeless Prevention Program assists households who are facing a crisis situation that has rendered them homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness. This may include a court-ordered eviction, fire victims, reduced income, medical emergencies, etc.

Guernsey, Monroe, Noble, and Belmont counties.

  • Landlord Mediation
  • Housing Location
  • Referral Connections to Community Resources

Rapid-Rehousing Eligibility

  • Meet HUD’s definition of homeless
  • Provide required documentation
  • No income requirements at the time of program entry

Homeless Prevention Eligibility

  • Annual income at or below 30% area median income
  • Facing a landlord or doubled-up eviction within 14 days
  • Provide required documentation
  • Have income/subsidy that will help maintain rental payments
  • Be a resident of the GMN coverage area (Guernsey, Monroe, Noble, or Belmont County)

How to Apply

Applications are available at each GMN site and throughout all four counties at various community agencies. They are also available at the below links.

Applicants are to fill out the application to the best of their abilities and submit to a GMN site. Prevention staff then have up to five days to make contact and deem applicant eligibile or ineligible.

If found eligible, staff will schedule an intake appointment with the applicant. At the the appointment, the applicant will need to provide required documentation.
